The Arballo
family's trial in
Cabo San Lucas

After a staggering 40-year intestacy battle, it has
been officially confirmed that half of Cabo San
Lucas's port will now belong to the descendants of
Vicente Arballo Macklis, a prominent businessman
and cattle rancher.
Hermelinda Vargas, a reporter from Los Cabos, has
unveiled the details, calling it an unprecedented
case in Baja California Sur. The outcome could
potentially disrupt the booming real estate sector if
the land transfer process is not handled carefully.

The restitution spans a massive
area, from the iconic Arco de Cabo
San Lucas to the San Cristobal
ranch. These are the lands where
luxury developments such as
Rancho San Lucas, Rolling Hills,
Waldorf Astoria, Pedregal, Pueblo
Bonito, Quivira, Diamante and the
Playa Grande hotels are located.
A shocking twist in the 40-year
legal saga!

Vicente Arballo bought the La
Laguna property to convert it
into a cattle ranch in 1943. It
covers half of what we know
today as the Port of Cabo San
Lucas and the entire area where
the luxury neighborhoods of El
Tezal are located. But when he
died, he did not leave a will, so
his heirs initiated an intestate
proceeding, which is the one that
has just concluded after 40
years.

The Arballo family's claim extends
far beyond the port, covering a
staggering 40 of Cabo San Lucas's
most densely populated
neighborhoods. All that stands in
the way of this monumental land
transfer is the district judge's final
order, which will change the
cadastral codes to the Arballo
Estate, led by Mrs. Blanca Arballo.

In an exclusive update, reporter Hermelinda Vargas
reveals that while the Arballo family pledges an orderly
process, concerns are mounting over the potential ripple
effects on Cabo’s booming real estate and tourism
sectors, the lifeblood of the local economy.
Will this landmark
decision reshape the
city’s future? Stay
tuned!

The Los Cabos news site COLECTIVOPERICÚ, reported
that the previous week, the government of Baja
California Sur issued the update of the titles of the
Arballo Family, where it is proven that they own half of
the port of Cabo San Lucas and the entire area known as
EL TEZAL.
