DEFINITION
Location is a position or point that
occupies some of the Earth’s
surface
Location is defined in two terms:
absolute location and relative
location

ABSOLUTE LOCATION
Refers to the exact position of an object
or place, measured within the spatial
coordinates (latitude & longitude) of a
grid system
Written using coordinates, such as:
10.6°N, 71.55°W
Lake Maracaibo of Venezuela

RELATIVE LOCATION
Refers to the location of one place
in relation to its surroundings
Written using words, such as:
China is in the northeastern hemisphere, south of
Mongolia, West of the East China Sea, East of
Kazakhstan, and North of Myanmar
