KEY POINTS *The lesson is an article by Mrs. Vijaylakshmi Pandit . It is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji’s role in her life. She has shared a few incidents in her life and has narrated how Gandhiji’s advice helped her . * Mrs.Pandit underwent a period of deep anguish when she lost her husband and she was denied her share of the family property. The law too did not support her. .

Key points *Before leaving for America as an Indian ambassador, she met Gandhiji who asked her to make peace with her relatives. Initially , she refused. Gandhiji advised her , “No one can harm you but yourself.” *On another occasion , she went as to NewYork , as a leader of the Indian delegation to the UNITED NATIONS. She remembered Gandhiji’s words: “Means are as important as the end.”
