The Bharunda Bird
An Indian myth

The Bharunda Bird
This is an ancient
myth from India
about a two headed
bird.

The Indians
The Indians believed
that it was good
luck to see the
bird.

Singing
Whenever the
Bharunda bird sang
a song any animal
that was fighting
would turn calm.

Food
If either of the
heads found
something to eat
they would say
“other head do you
want something to
eat”and the other
head would say
“yes’’.

A Fight
One day the tall head
got angry with the
small head and they
stopped sharing
food and singing

It Died
Then they began
to peck at one
another until the
little head
swallowed some
poison and they
both died.
