Steve Jobs was a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer
era. With Steve Wozniak, Jobs founded Apple Inc. in 1976 and
transformed the company into a world leader in
telecommunications. Widely considered a visionary and a genius,
he oversaw the launch of such revolutionary products as the iPod
and the iPhone.

The Foundation Of Apple: In 1976, Apple was founded by three men:
Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne with the intention of selling
Wozniak’s hand-built Personal Computer named Apple 1. The first Apple
office, in the garage of Steve Jobs’ childhood home. The Apple 1 was sold
as a motherboard with CPU, RAM and basic textual-video chips. It then
lacked a built-in keyboard, monitor, case or any other Human Interface
Devices (which was later added in 1977). In July 1976, the Apple 1 went on
sale and was sold for $666.66. Steve Wozniak took a special liking for

Wayne decided to leave the company only a couple of weeks after it was
founded. Wayne then took a cheque of $800 which would have been worth

THE PIONEER YEARS
2004-2005: The Concept and Development
In 2004, Apple CEO Steve Jobs gathered a team of
engineers and designers to develop a new mobile phone
that would integrate the company's innovative
technology with the internet. The team, led by Tony
Fadell, worked on the project codenamed "Purple." The
goal was to create a device that would be a game-
changer in the mobile industry.

2006: The First iPhone Prototype
In 2006, Apple introduced the first iPhone
prototype, which was more like a iPod with a
phone feature. It had a 3.5-inch touchscreen
display, a 2-megapixel camera, and no app
store. The device was still under
development, and Apple wasn't ready to
unveil it just yet.

2007: The First iPhone Launch
On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs took the stage at
Macworld Expo in San Francisco to introduce the
world to the iPhone. The original iPhone had:

Wi-Fi connectivity

2008: iPhone OS and App Store
In 2008, Apple released the second-generation iPhone
(iPhone 3G) with:

GPS capabilities
Support for EDGE network
The introduction of the App Store with over 500 apps
The App Store changed the game by allowing developers
to create and distribute apps for the iPhone. This marked
the beginning of the app economy.

2009-2010: Evolution and Expansion
The next few years saw significant updates to
the iPhone line:
iPhone 3GS (2009): added video recording,
voice control, and faster processor
iPhone 4 (2010): introduced FaceTime video
calling, a new design with stainless steel
frame, and improved camera

iPhone 4S (2011)
iPhone 4S was launched on October 14, 2011,
bringing Siri, the intelligent voice assistant,
and a significantly improved camera.

The iPhone 5 is a smartphone that was
designed, developed, and marketed by
Apple Inc. It is the 6th generation
iPhone, succeeding the iPhone 4s, and
preceding both the iPhone 5s and iPhone
5c. It was formally unveiled as part of a
press event on September 12, 2012, and
subsequently released on September 21,
2012.

Apple announced the iPhone 5c and the
iPhone 5s during a media event at its
Cupertino headquarters on September
10, 2013. While the iPhone 5c became
available for preorder on September 13,
2013, the iPhone 5s was not available for
preorder. Both devices were released on
September 20, 2013.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are
smartphones that were designed,
developed, and marketed by Apple Inc.
They are the eighth generation of the
iPhone, succeeding the iPhone 5, iPhone
5c and iPhone 5s, and were announced
on September 9, 2014, and released on
September 19, 2014.

The iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X were
announced on September 12, 2017, in
Apple's first event held at the Steve Jobs
Theater in Apple Park. All models
featured rear glass panel designs akin to
the iPhone 4, wireless charging, and a
hexa-core A11 Bionic chip with "Neural
Engine" AI accelerator hardware.

Pro. The iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and XS
Max were announced on September 12,
2018. All models featured the "Smart
HDR" computational photography
system, and a significantly more
powerful "Neural Engine". The XS Max
introduced a larger 6.5-inch screen.

The iPhone 11 is a smartphone designed,
developed, and marketed by Apple Inc.
It is the thirteenth generation of iPhone,
succeeding the iPhone XR, and was
unveiled on September 10, 2019,
alongside the higher-end iPhone 11 Pro
at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park,
Cupertino, by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

On April 15, 2020, the second-generation
iPhone SE was announced in a press
release note on Apple's website. It was
marketed as "A powerful new
smartphone in a popular design", and
was released worldwide on April 24,
2020.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 13 and iPhone
13 Mini began on September 17, 2021.
They were officially released on
September 24, 2021. As of June 2024,
the iPhone 13 is the oldest iPhone model
still officially sold by, and fully
supported by Apple (the iPhone 13 Mini
was discontinued on September 12,
2023).
