• The Eiffel Tower is a puddle lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris.
• Built in 1889, it is a global cultural icon of France.
• The tower stands 324m tall, equal to an 81-storey building.
• It is the tallest building in Paris and a top paid tourist site.

• Named after engineer Gustave Eiffel, it was built for the World’s Fair.
