2. The EORI is the Economic Operator's
Registration and Identification
Number.

3. It is used by businesses that engage in the import and export of goods in and out of the European Union.

When is the EORI mandatory?

6. What activities is it
used for?
All types of customs operations:
import, export, and transit.

7. How is the EORI
obtained?
Via an application with the customs
authority of the Member State in which
the company is incorporated.

8. EORI for non-EU
companies
The non-EU companies register for
EORI in the Member State in which they
will engage in their first customs
operation.

9. The Polish EORI number
All Polish EORI numbers contain the applicable
country code (two letters), and the identifier
which comprises fifteen alphanumeric
characters.

10. Validity
Once attributed, the EORI number does
not expire, however, it can be
invalidated if the business ceases its
activities.
