THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST Cecille Ubaldo

Lordship one who has complete authority, dominion or command over something one that has ranking, authority, power and dignity

First announcement of his birth. `` Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the  Lord '‘ ( Luke 2:11 )

The Lordship of Jesus Christ He has absolute control over your life

Understanding LORDSHIP

You are the purchased possession You are heavenly property. You do not belong to yourself. 1. The Price that Jesus Paid Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own. You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. ( 1Corinthians 6:19-20 )

JESUS has become Lord of your life because He has bought you with His precious blood.

Obedience unto death 2. Jesus Exalted as Lord At his name, every knee would bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. ( Philippians 2:5—11 )

Salvation comes only by acknowledging that JESUS is LORD. That if you confess with your mouth, “JESUS is LORD,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Love for love ones should never come above love for God . 3. Jesus Demands Loyalty ``If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.'' ( Luke 14:26, 27 ).

We cannot love our love ones more than we love God. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)

Following JESUS means: Leaving everything behind Being willing to die Surrendering oneself absolutely

``In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.'‘ (Luke 14:33)

SUBMISSION Unto His Lordship

1. Jesus , Lord of Your Mind

Reject the thought patterns of this world. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” ( Romans 12:2).

The simplest way to understand Jesus as Lord of your mind is to ask, `` What is His thought on what I am thinking now?''

Settle the question of who is Lord.  Is Christ Lord or is He not ? Does He have the right to control my life or does He not ? Is He Supreme or not?   Should I be  Lord  (Boss) of my life or should He? Who should run my life---the Lord or me?

Thoughts that are not in accordance with God’s plan have to be rejected. ``Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.'' ( Matthew 16:23)

``For the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts.'' ( 1 Chronicles 28:9 NIV )

2 . Jesus , Lord of Your Body

This passage deals with sexual immorality. ``Therefore honor God with your body.'‘ (1 Corinthians 6:20 NIV) One who sins sexually sins against his own body .

"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit  who is  in you , whom you have from God, and you are not your own ?  20 For you were bought at a price ; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."   ( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, “but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1Peter 1:18)

Therefore: Glorify God in your body and in your spirit. Give God the glory for it is a matter of gratitude not a matter of obligation which are God’s

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- - - this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1)

3 . Jesus , Lord of Your Decisions

``What shall I do , Lord ?' I asked. “ Get up, “the Lord said, “ and go into Damascus. There you will told all that you have been assigned to do.” (Acts 22:10 )

``Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.'‘ (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NIV ) It calls for actively submitting our decision-making process to God and waiting for His counsel and direction .

4 . Jesus , Lord of Your Finance

"You cannot serve both God and Money" (Matthew 6:24 NIV )

Do not make Money the god of your life .

God is asking us to store up treasures in heaven

5. Jesus, Lord of Your Work

Work involves time, energy, resources and priorities.

``whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God '‘ (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV).

W ork should be done with all your heart . It should be done as if you are doing it for the Lord and not for men.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. ( Colossians 3:23, 24). In your work you are serving the Lord Christ

Therefore do all your work with excellence so that others will see it and praise God (Matthew 5:16). Your daily work is an area where you should exhibit the Lordship of Jesus.

Work, however good (legitimate) it is, should not distract us from finding time to sit at the feet of the Lord Jesus (Luke 10:38—42 ) Martha & Mary And even if it is the Lord's work you're doing, you have to find time to rest (Mark 6:31).

CHALLENGE Will you recognize His Lordship? Will you submit to it? REMEMBER! He is LORD of all you have and all you do. Do you live by that Lordship?
