Welcome Students

Hortatory exposition is a type of spoken or written text that is intended to explain to the listeners or readers that something should or should not happen or be done. Hortatory exposition is a type of English text that is persuasive. Hortatory 3

This type of text is of course formal and must also be written based on facts. It can be found in scientific journals, magazines, articles, newspapers, academic speeches and scientific books. 4

Analytical exposition aims to make readers aware of important issues The Difference between Analytical Exposition Text and Hortatory Exposition Text Hortatory exposition functions more to force readers to agree and even follow instructions

Writers can express opinions that are relevant and based on facts regarding the issue or theme they want to write about. Hortatory Exposition Structure Thesis In this section the author can include recommendations, other people's opinions, or trusted sources to support the opinions written in the initial section. Arguments The final part of this article contains recommendations for readers. Recommendations can contain suggestions for what should be done or not done based on the arguments or opinions given by the author. Recommendation

Using thinking verbs Using action verbs Using abstract nouns Characteristics of Hortatory Exposition Focuses on the author Using temporal connectivity Using passive voice Using present tense

An abstract noun is a noun that refers to something non-physical—something conceptual that you can’t perceive directly with your senses. For example: John expressed his opinion on the subject clearly and forcefully. Action verbs or dynamic verbs are verbs to state that the subject is carrying out an action or to state that something is happening. For example: He plays badminton every Sunday morning. Thinking Verb is a verb related to thinking activities. For example, I believe on my ability.

Passive voice is when subject receives the action of the verb. For example: A magazine was read by my mom yesterday. Temporal conjunctions are conjunctions that relate to time, either within sentences or between sentences themselves. For example: He stopped by for a while then left again.

The Importance of Reading Thesis: I personally think that reading is a very important activity in our life. Why do I say so? Argument I: Firstly, by reading we can get a lot of knowledge about many things in the world such as Science, technology, sports, arts, culture, etc written in either books, magazine, newspaper, etc. Argument II: Secondly, by reading we can get a lot of news and information about something happening in any part of the world which can we see directly. Argument III: Another reason, reading can give us pleasure too. When we are tired, we read books, novels, comics, newspaper or magazines on the entertainment column such as comedy, short story, quiz, etc. To make us relaxed. Argument IV: Last, reading can also take us to other parts of the world. By reading a book about Irian Jaya we may feel we’re really sitting in the jungles not at home in our rooms. Recommendation: From the facts above, it’s obvious that everyone needs to read to get knowledge, information, and also entertainment. Or in summary, we can say reading is truly important in our life.
