Levels NOT Branches!! The three LEVELS of government are the federal, local, and national government. Don ’ t get them confused!

Local Government Local Government deals with matters that affect the local community. They are concerned with matters close to home. A few thing they look after are local roads, putting out fires, and take care of service parks. The leader of the local government is the Mayor.  Mayor of Bowling Green, KY. Bruce Wilkerson

State Government

The state takes care of matters that affect people in the whole state. They issue driving, hunting, and fishing licenses. They also are in charge of education, health and environment issues. Every state also elects a presidents during the election. State and local governments often share responsibilities! The leader of the state government is the Governor. Federal (National) Government The federal government deals with matters that affect all of the U.S. The do things like ensure flying is safe, print money, provide national security, and establish post offices. Leaders in the federal government include the President and Vice President.

All three levels of Government work together to create a great UNITED country kind of like the branches!
