Time management tips
To achieve your potential in the exam it is
important to manage your time effectively by
Analyzing your time
Keeping focus
Setting goals
Scheduling

Detecting Difficulties in Managing Your Time
To manage your time effectively, it is
important to analyze where you are wasting
your time.
To do this we can use R-A-C method
•Record
•Analyze
•Change

Procrastination
‘Procrastination’ means putting off a
task you should be doing.
Ex: As a TA, you are supposed to
prepare a lesson plan for tomorrow’s
class. But when you reach home, you
find that your siblings have a movie on
fire!
You will tend to shift the planning task
until tomorrow at school. Avoid that!

Reason to Procrastination
Why do we procrastinate? A task may
be too unpleasant to face, too difficult,
very tedious, or boring, or there simply
may be so many other more interesting
things to pull your attention away that
you struggle to keep on track.

strategies to prevent PROCRASTINATION
1.Take action.
2.Salami Technique: involves breaking
down the task into its smallest parts
and then working through each of
them in order until the task is
complete.
3.Work on related tasks
4.Do the hardest bits first

strategies to prevent PROCRASTINATION
5. Set goals
6. Make commitments
7. Reward yourself for achievement
8. Change subjects regularly when bored

Planning your time
To use your time effectively, it is
necessary to plan it out.
By knowing what you have on in a
given week, you can plan around your
commitments to make space for
homework and study.

Planning your time
The first step is to know what you have
on for the year. This will help you plan
what pieces of work to concentrate on
at different periods of the year.
The final step is planning out your
week. Planning your week by marking
off the times when you are busy is a
vital step to using your available time
as effectively as possible.

GOAL SETTING
As future university students, when
you’re studying, the temptation can
be to maybe retreat to your
bedroom for hours on end and the
state generally that you’re
‘studying’.

GOAL SETTING
What exactly does ‘studying’ mean
though?
Studying needs to be broken down
into specific goals and targets.
Chunk the work that you want to
achieve within a given time frame.

TO-DO LIST
A To-Do list is a very simple device –
you just list all the things you have to
do on a given day or perhaps week.
As you work through each of these
tasks you can tick them off, safe in the
knowledge that you’re taking charge of
your time management.

TO-DO LIST
Conclusion: How is this knowledge
connected to your life goals and dreams?
What did you learn today and how are
you going to use it?

Enjoy managing your time as a Teaching Assistant!

THE END!
