date I went to go visit was Thursday August 6. It was my first time attending a local governmental
meeting. The meeting that was held was titled as The Parking and Transportation Commission. I
was glad the topic was on this because I felt keeping our society safe is the most important. So the
City Council would do its best to make sure that there would not be hassle while driving on the road
way. They try their best to prevent traffic and parking problems. Obviously there is still going to
be traffic on the freeways, but they try their best to cause fewer problems for people in the society.
The members that were in the meeting would give suggestions or feedback, and recommendations
to other board members. Everyone had their own point of view about the Parking and
Transportation issue. The Directive was taking a look at the transportation ecological impact
reports, future transportation expansion strategies, and school crossing guardsites. I feel like their

identify and compare bacteria in a given sample. This method is well established and allows to
study phylogeny and taxonomy of complex microbiomes. In this study, an unknown sample of
extracted microbial DNA was analyzed by performing the polymerase chain reaction followed by
agarose gel electrophoresis. The results were accurate since three distinct bands (1500 basepairs)
corresponded to our sample (duplicates) and the positive control. This indicates clearly the
amplification of the 16s rRNA gene whose further sequencing technique constitutes a pivotal tool in
the accurate identification of bacterial isolates as well as the discovery of novel bacteria in clinical
microbiology laboratories.

members, providing the opportunity to share their input and possibly even make changes to what
the facilitator believes the group goal(s) or expectations should be.
The goal for the psychoeducational group based on mindfulness was to: define mindfulness,
share various mindfulness skills, discuss the applicability of mindfulness, and practice a few of
the mindfulness skills. Aside from these goals, which were created for the specific group session
that was led in class, there are also goals of psychoeducation as a whole. The purpose of
psychoeducation is to share information with group members about a particular topic. Related to
that topic, skills should be built upon. Psychoeducation not only provides group members to share
their personal experiences related to the group s topic, but also to teach the group members how to
create their own support system outside of the group (Corey, 2016).
Overall, I felt as though the goals of the group on mindfulness were accomplished, as well as the
goals of psychoeducation as a whole. Whitney and I were able to share information on mindfulness
with the class, which included the definition, skills, applicability, and examples of mindfulness,
encompassing the goal for the particular session that was led. Furthermore, I felt as though the

Jim Sardonis Reverence Analysis
The sculpture that caught my eye the most for this assignment is called Reverence by Jim
Sardonis. This piece of artwork is a three dimensional assemblage sculpture. It is made of pieces
of granite which is an igneous rock. It was put together piece by piece which required special
tools and equipment and also a lot of space to work. It is an in the round sculpture, which means the
whole thing cannot be photographed in one photo and there are many different views of it
depending on where you are standing. This is a beautiful sculpture that has many meaning to it.
It depicts two whales tails as they appear to be diving into a field of grass. The grass represents the

whale s tail. I think seeing the big tails in person would make people realize little things can and
should be prevented so we don t destroy the habitats and homes of underwater creatures like these
huge whales. Whenever humans let unnatural substances into the water, (example: oil spills) it
causes pollution which is leading to the extinction of whales. This sculpture is making people
notice the beauty of these humongous whales in hopes of making us more cautious in what we do
in our everyday lives to preserve the lives of these mammals. It will be our fault when the species
