2. Crops in India ……. Agriculture plays a vita role in India economy. Agriculture is the back bone of are country. Two- third of the total population of India is engaged in agriculture. India is a top producer country of many crops. Some the major crops produced here Wheat, Cotton, Sugarcane, Tea, Spices etc.

3. Classification of crops ……. Crops are classification in 3 categories based on season .. KHARIF CROPS …… RABI CROPS ….. ZAIB CROPS …...

4. Classification of crops ……. Kharif crops.. Kharif means “ Autumn ’’ in Arabic…. Also know as monsoon crops…. sown in { J une } beginning of monsoon… harvesting in { December } end of monsoon.. example = COTTON, SOYEBEAN, SUGARCANE, PADDY {RICE}, MAIZ, RED CHILLES ETC……

5. RABI CROPS Rabi means Spring in Arabic … Also know as winter crops … Sow in mid- November end of monsoon.. Harvesting- April/ may… Example- PEA, WHEAT, BAELEY, ONION, TOMATO ETC..

6. ZADI CROPS ……. Also know as summer crops. March and June between { RABI and KHARIF.} Example- WATERMELON, BITTER GUARD, PUMPKIN, MUSKMELON ETC..

7. COTTON ….. It is a staple of crops.. India is the 3th largest producer of cotton in the world.. Rainfall- 60 cm to 1 20 cm …. Temperature 21*C – 30*C States – GUJRAT , ANDHARA PRADESH , RAJESTHAN , MP , PUNJAB , HARYANA , TAMIL NADU , ODISHA , KARNATAK ETC….

8. RICE ….. it’s a staple of crops … India is the 2 nd largest producer of rice the world.. Temperature 16*C – 27*C.. Rainfall- 100 cm to 200 cm.. STATES – PUNJAB , UTTAR PRADESH , TAMIL NADU , ANDRA PRADESH , ODISSHA , BIHAR , ASSAM ETC ..

9. TEA …. 50% of employees are women…. I ndia is the 2th largest producer of tea in the world… Temperature= 20- 30*C Rainfall = 150-300 STATES= KERALA, ASSAM , HP MEGHLYA, ECT…..
