STRESS MANAGEMENT Stress adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures Stress affects people differently – Mental health can positively or negatively impact risk factors for heart disease and stroke. Stress results in increased non-healthy habits such as smoking, overeating, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet and not taking prescribed medications. Positive Pressure Stress Concern or urgency that makes you more alert, motivates you, and spurs you to seek solutions. Overwhelming concern or anxiety that damages your productivity, relationships, and/or health . Signs and Symptoms: Mood swings, isolation, loss of motivation, increased emotional reactions – being more tearful, sensitive or aggressive. Body’s response to stress may be a headache, back strain, stomach pains. Everyone feels both pressure and stress in life, but there are critical differences between the two.

Encourage them to take care of their physical health. Seek advice from company doctor in confidence. You can manage stress: Exercising regularly to relieve stress, depression, anxiety Making time for friends and family. Getting enough sleep 7-8 hours / day. Maintaining a positive attitude. Practicing relaxation techniques & sports activities. Finding a hobby that can be fun and distract you from negative thoughts or worries.
