Sehlabathebe national park is the national designated nature reserve in Lesotho and comprises 6 500 hectares at an average elevation of 2 400 m. The park is ideal for hiking, bird-watching and contains unusual rock formations and alpine flora. Game is limited to a few antelope species but the scenery is stunning. It is situated on the boarder of Lesotho and south Africa at the part of the Drakensberg. Sehlabathebe is home to grasslands, waterfalls, pools, and cliffs teeming with wildlife. There are wildflowers that are to be over looked.

Sehlabathebe national park wild life There are Africans largest antelopes you will find them grazing on the grassy slopes in small groups, they are notoriously shy. Chacma baboons are acrobats on the cliffs. At Sehlabathebe the scenery is at best in December when regular rain is at lush. There are also animals like cape vultures, bearded vulture and the maloti minnow, and endangered endemic fish found only within the park.

Thaba-Bosiu mountain It means “mountain at night”. It was in July, 1824 when morena Moshoeshoe and his people took occupation of the mountain which his brother Mohale reconnoitered. These mountain is called Thaba-Bosiu because morena Moshoeshoe and his people arrived there at night. The mountain is flat-topped and it is situated in the valley of the Phuthiatsana River. It rises about 350 ft. from the surrounding valley and its summit is surrounded by a belt of perpendicular cliff some 40 ft. high on the average.

Liphofung natural reserve This is the smallest of the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority reserve at about 4 hectares. The cave is in fact a large overhang in the Clarence sandstones, which is typical feature of Lesotho lowlands region. This is particular site lies in a tributary stream valley o f the Hololo River just off the main route from Botha-Bothe to Oxbow and Mokhotlong. Is the small display of Basotho culture and San rock art.
