Assignment NO 3 Case Questions: Can Helen terminate Mary without running into legal problem? What should Helen do now regarding the employee Assistance Program? Simulate how do you would make a referral to the EAP if you were Helen. Should Helen have acted sooner ?if so, how?

My answer 1. Helen have no right to terminate Mary and she doesn’t know what the main situation at the root of Mary’s problem you can fire an employees ,unless the reason is illegal Helen need to tread carefully when they terminate Mary 2.Helen should have issued the warnings as well as a formal mandatory referral to the EAP and after this is then Helen has enough evidence to prove she had been fair with Mary and given her countless chances to improve her performances .

3. As a supervisor, yes, it is Helen’s responbility to acted sooner of Mary’s performance, in a way to make a conversation with Mary and talk about her performance issue, in order to recognize the problem with Mary’s behaviour, and take corrective action about it. Therefore, Helen will give Mary a chance to improve her performance.
