CONTACT PRECAUTION MEASURES HAND HYGIENE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTS EQUIPMENTS Single placement room ( sepration of beds between 3 feet distance) Limit the patient movement Disinfection of rooms

DROPLET PRECATIONS Respiratory droplets are large particles > 5um in size generated by coughing, sneezing or talking. Close contact less than <3 feet Large particles settle down on surface

Droplet Infection control measures Hand hygiene Ppe Respiratory hygiene/ cough technique Social distancing Patient placement distance >3 feet with other beds and in corner of ward. Transfer of patient mask and cough etiquette with staff wear ppe . Disinfectant of the room

Airborne precautions Standard precaution used to prevent spread infection from respiratory aerosols. Aerosols are small particles <5 um generated during coughing, sneezing, talking. Aerosol generating procedures include:- Et intubation, open respiratory and airway suctioning, tracheostomy care, CPR, bronchoscopy. Wearing N95 mask

Airborne infection control measures PPE Patient placement with airborne infection isolation room (AIIR) include :- adequate ventilation, ultraviolet germicidal irradiation and filtration. Ventilation :- natural ventilation is door and windows are placed opposite to each other and kept open to maintain the airflow at all times.

Contt … Negative pressure room:- mechanical ventilation system that maintain the pressure of the room slightly lesser than the pressure of the entry area i.e. negative pressure.`so that it allows air to flow into the isolation room but not escape from the room as air naturally flows from areas with higher pressure to the areas with lower pressure, there by preventing contaminated air from escaping the room

contt Air changes per hour is best in every 6 hour is low chances for infection but in 12 hours have high risk of infection. Airflows from adjacent spaces to the patient room should be >2.5 Pascal. The door kept closed. The small outer waiting room is required for negative pressure room.

contt Ultraviolet germicide irradiation UVGI:- This device is help to used as in additional negative pressure ventilation it kill the organisms be irritating. It should be installed at a higher level >8 feet from the floor. Filtration :- highly efficiency particular air (HEPA) exhaust fan must be properly installed closely fitting to the window.

contt Transfer the patient Respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette Victors and staff :- firstly wear Ppe kit and not entry any airborne staff and vistors
