What is Transactional model of Communication? 30/08/2024 3

Transactional model of Communication 30/08/2024 4 The  Transaction Model of communication  is defined as an approach that describes the process by which communicators create social realities within the contexts of their  cultural, relational , and  social  surroundings. The Transactional Model is a two-way, interactive model used in communication to portray communication that occurs simultaneously in both directions. In the transactional paradigm, each party is both a sender and a receiver. Even if you use a technology like Skype to conduct the  meeting  remotely, it must be done in real time with both parties present. In transactional communication, the role of the mediator is given little weight.

PROCESS 30/08/2024 5 In the Transaction Model of communication is influenced by a wide range of elements, both directly and indirectly. These can be noise or communication impediments in the environment. Physical noise,  physiological noise , and psychological noise are all types of environmental noise. If the receiver has no spoken reaction, it is impossible to know if the message was received correctly in communication models. Interpersonal communication necessitates the exchange of feedback to clear up any misunderstandings that may have occurred.

8/30/2024 6 In the transactional model of communication, it's like a lively conversation where both the sender and receiver are actively participating. They are not just sending messages but also receiving and interpreting them simultaneously. This model emphasizes the importance of feedback, as it allows both parties to adjust their messages for better understanding. Factors such as the environment, past experiences, and the relationship between the communicators all impact the communication process. It's a dynamic and interactive exchange where both parties play a role in shaping the meaning of the communication. He sender encodes the message using a method such as speech or writing, and the receiver decodes the message by listening or reading.

Example 30/08/2024 7 Face to Face Meeting Telephone Conversation Skype Call Interactive Training session

Example Imagine you're texting a friend about weekend plans. You send a message suggesting a movie night, and your friend responds with excitement. In this exchange, you're both sending and receiving messages, adjusting based on each other's responses, just like the transactional model of communication. 30/08/2024 8
