Transpiration is the process whereby water, that is absorbed by plants, usually through the roots, are evaporated into the atmosphere from the leaves of the plant. What Is Transpiration?

Transpiration plays a very important role as it allows the plant to receive key nutrients and minerals. By this process, the plant will be able to absorb more water from its roots, allowing a constant flow of water to take place. Why Transpiration?

Transpirational Pull Transpiration pull only works in plants and trees because their stems contain bundles of many very fine tubes, made of woody material, called xylem.

What is Transpirational Pull? The transpiration process begins at the surface of the leaves of the plant or tree. Water continually evaporates from the pores of the leaf and is lost into the atmosphere. This evaporation causes million of minutely small droplets of water to form inside the pores. Thus, this causes transpirational pull.
