Transpirational pull and Transpiration Immanuel Pang Wijaya Ong Tang Hao Ling Niekie Blom

Transpiration Transpiration is the process where by water that is absorbed by plants, usually through the roots, are evaporated.

Why Transpiration? Transpiration is a very important process as it allows plants to absorb more water from its roots receiving important nutrients and minerals. Evaporation of water takes place so as to make the flow of water constant. Thus, cooling the plant down.

Factors affecting transpiration Light Humidity-the amount of water vapour in the surrounding atmosphere Temperature Wind Leaf surface area

Transpirational pull Transpirational pull is the pulling force developed inside xylem tissue causing the water to move up the xylem vessel by the loss of water vapour in the leaves
