2. HYPOTHYROIDISM

3. A clinical and biomedical syndrome that results from a deficiency in thyroid hormone secretion from thyroid gland or in the action. The disease ranges from subclinical hypothyroidism to primary and secondary hypothyroidism and the extreme medical emergency, myxoedema comma.

4. INVESTIGATIONS SPECIFIC: PRIMARY HYPOTHYROIDISM 1- Serum T4 is low 2- Increase TSH (usually greater than 20ul/L)

5. IN SEVERE PROLONG HYPOTHYROIDISM ECG classically demonstrate sinus bradycardia with low voltage complex and ST segment and T wave abnormality. Measurement of thyroid peroxidase is helpful in diagnosis of A utoimmune Thyroiditis.

6. NON SPECIFIC FINDINGS Serum Enzymes: Raised creatine kinase, aspartate aminotransferase, LDH. Hypercholesterolaemia Anemia: normochromic normocytic or macrocytic. Hyonatraemia
