THEARAPEUTICS
:
VATA VASTITAILA
PITTA VIRECHANAGRITA
KAPHAVAMANAMADHU
The tridoshasare various forms of energies,
vata= kinetic energy,
pitta = thermal energy,
kapha= mechanical energy.
The balanced condition of these energies maintains the
health status of the individual(5)

TridosasIn Micro level
■Tridoshaexist only in living body. In non–living Tridoshadoesn’t
exist. Each and every cell of the body is made up of the tridosha.
■Ayurveda accepts paramanuSiddhanta (6) and the body is said to be
paramanuyukta. It is the broad application of paramanu
siddhantathat, the tridoshasacts at the level of
paramanus.
■VATA:nucleolus, movement, controlling
■PITTA : metabolism, transformation, enzymes,
lysosomes
KAPHA:plasmamembrane,structuralintegrity,
cytoplasm

Systems and
Tridosa
■Different organs and organ systems of
the body are acting as instruments /
equipmentsfor carrying out these
functions.
■Ex: In Nervous system –vataregulating
the movements , sensation through the
action potentials
■Neurotransmeters–which are the
enzymes can correlate with pitta
■The protein sheath / myalinesheath can
correlate with kaphagunawhich gives
the stability and vehicle to the neuro
transmission.

The three different systems
that contribute to
development and
maintenance of homeostasis,
the nervous,endocrineand
immunesystems are closely
interrelated.
First, it was established that
the neuroendocrine system
was able to modulate the
immune response.
The neuro-endocrine-
immune axis (7)
NEURO –VATA DOSA
ENDOCRINE –PITTA DOSA
IMMUNE –KAPHA DOSA

CONCLUSION
■Tridosha, considering Dosha's physiological significance in
preserving the body's homeostasis, Tridoshahave been
called as root (Dosha Dhatu Mala Moolamhi Shariram) of
the body. All the functions of the body could be explained in
terms of Dosha, Dhatu and Mala. Prerana, Pachanaand
Poshanacarried out by vatha, pitha, and kapharespectively
(8)
■A human being’s HEALTHY and UNHEALTHY state
depends on the usual and abnormal functional state of the
person, which is depend on the tridosasidhanta.
