Trust
–The condition and resulting
obligation of having
confidence placed in one:
violated a public trust.
–One in which confidence is
placed.
Ex. Abbie trust Susan,
because Susan has never
told anyone, about Abbie's
secrets.
Mistrust
a. Lack of trust or
confidence arising from
suspicion.
b. To be wary, suspicious, or
doubtful

Ex. Abbie mistrust Susan,
because susan told everyone
Abbie's secret.

Trust vs. Mistrust
Signifacant Social Relationship - Mother or Mothers
Substitute

Crisis:Trust v.s Mistrust
Positive
When your taken care of too
good, you will turn out too
trusting and expect everyone
to be nice.

Negative:
When your taken care of
terribly, you develop
withdrawal, depression,
paranoia, and possibly
psychosis

Trust vs. Mistrust
The virtue is hope, the hop in believing things turn out for the
better even in troubling times.

The malignancy of trust vs. Mistrust is being gullable, trusting
people even if they do terrible things.

the Maladaptation is not trusting anybody, even if they want to
help you.
