Harrow 3/27/2 18 Harrow is a secondary tillage implement. That cuts the soil to a shallow depth for smoothening and pulverizing. t h e s o i l a s well a s to cut t he we e ds a n d to m ix t h e materials with the soil. 4

Acme harrow 3/27/2 18 5 It is also called as knife harrow. The front part of the knife breaks the soil and crushes the clods . This harrow obtains a good pulverization.

Patela Harrow 3/27/2 18 6 It is a wooden plank used for smoothening the soil and crushing the weeds. It is also used for breaking clods, packing and leveling the ploughed soil and to remove the weeds. The cutting edge levels and packs the soil and the curved hooks uproot and collect the weeds.

Triangular harrow It is a spike tooth harrow with triangular frame. The frame is made of wood and pointed spikes are fitted in the frame. The teeth of the spikes are fixed and not adjustable. This type pulverizes the soil and helps in killing weeds. The levers are provided for setting the teeth for varying the depth of harrowing. 3/27/2 18 7

Blade harrow 3/27/2 18 8 It is used to prepare seedbeds mostly in clayey soils. It works like a sweep, which moves into top surface of the soil without inverting the soil .
