Definition of collars Collars are integral parts of most of our clothing. It frames the face, keeps your neck warm, gives the whole garment an elegance.  Collars can be sewn to the garment or detachable.

Peter pan collar A Peter Pan collar is a style of clothing collar, flat in design with rounded corners. The Peter Pan collar is a form of flat collar, one of the three basic collar types along with stand and roll collars.

Scalloped collar: Scalloped collar of 2' to 3' width following the same as peterpan . Modify the shape of the outer edge of collar to scallop. These can be attached in frocks. This will also come under flat collar.

Puritan collar A Puritan collar is a wide collar extending to the shoulders with squared corners at center front and out edges.

Sailor collar A collar with a deep V-neck in front, no stand, and a square back, based on traditional sailor's uniforms.

Full shirt collar A Full shirt collar with a wide spread between the points, which can accommodate a bulky necktie knot.

open collar Generally, open collar is a general term to indicate no tie for men, but also implies no t-shirts. Attire for open collar may suggest business casual and is outlined below.

Chinese collar Chinese or Mandarin Collar, or the Mao collar, is a small, close-fitting, stand up collar. It is usually about 3-4cm high, with edges that don’t quite meet at the front. As its name suggests, the Mandarin Collar comes from the traditional dress worn by the Mandarins in Imperial China. The style is also quite similar to the Nehru collar that is often found in modern Indian men’s clothing.

Turtle neck A high, round collar made when the neck of a piece of clothing is folded over a piece of clothing with a turtleneck.

shawl collar A shawl collar is actually a combined lapel and collar–the under collar is cut in one with the garment front, and a center back seam joins the two halves of the collar. Yokes and its types Simple Yoke Plain or basic yoke has got simple structure. It can be placed on front and back part of men’s shirt. According to the shape of garment, use of garment, age of person, yokes are suitably cut and joined. This yoke is a part of the garment which is cut and joined with a piping or seam.
