5. DEFINITION OF RENAL CALCULI Renal calculi also called as Kidney Stone. The stones are solid concretions or calculi (crystal aggregations) formed in the kidneys from dissolved urinary minerals .

7. 1.CALCIUM OXALATE STONE It is most common type of Renal Calculi Calcium phosphate concretion (called a Randall’s plaque), destroys urothelium and is a nidus for calcium oxalate deposition

8. 2. URIC ACID STONES Persistently acidic urine Persistently metabolic acidosis

9. 3. STRUVITE STONE Also called Magnesium ammonium phosphate stone . Caused by Urinary tract infections with urease-producing organisms Commonly Proteus E. Coli is not urease

10. 4. CYSTINE STONE It is the rare type of Renal Calculi . Form in acidic urine . Soluble in alkaline urine.
