Types of Meal Plan… A la carte  –  Does not include any meals. All-Inclusive (AI)  – All -inclusive plans differ from resort to resort, but the basic "inclusive" plan traditionally covers all meals, beverages.

Types of Meal Plan… American Plan (AP) Includes  three meals per day at the hotel, i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner. Travelers choosing a hotel in a remote location where there are not many restaurants — or none at all — need to stay at a hotel that offers an American plan. Meals plans typically do not include wine or cocktails.

Types of Meal Plan… Bed & Breakfast (BB) Includes only room rate and breakfast meal (Bread, Juice/coffee)

Types of Meal Plan… Continental Plan (CP) A continental breakfast normally consists of coffee or tea, juice, and bread. The bread may be as simple as a loaf or as appealing as a basket of freshly baked croissants, scones, and muffins. At some facilities, yogurt and fresh fruit may also be available. The Continental Plan breakfast does not include cooked foods, such as pancakes or eggs.

Types of Meal Plan… European Plan (EP) Does  not include any meals. The advantage of the European Plan is that guests have more options to try a variety of restaurant experiences, and can often save money by eating out at restaurants that charge less than the hotel dining room.

Types of Meal Plan… Family American Plan (FA) This plan offers free or discounted meals for children.

Types of Meal Plan… Half Board (or Half Pension) Includes two meals per day at the hotel. Breakfast and either lunch or dinner.  Typically used in European countries.

Types of Meal Plan… Modified American Plan (MAP) The quoted rate includes two meals a day, including breakfast and either lunch or dinner. In the Modified American plan, these meals are provided by the hotel dining room. Travelers choosing a hotel in a remote location where there are not many restaurants — or none at all.
