Shirt cuffs are an important part of the shirts which are often neglected. In fact collars and cuffs are the only visible parts of the shirt when a suit jacket is worn. It is a defining characteristic of a shirt and influences the overall feel of it. Make sure you know about this important detail and understand different cuff styles.

4. BUTTON CUFFS Button cuffs, also called barrel cuffs are the most common types of cuffs which wrap around the arm. They are prominent on ready to wear shirts. Most of the button cuffs bear a single button and are adjustable. The corners of the cuffs can be angled or squared for a preppy look and some of button cuffs might have two or three buttons as well.

5. LINK CUFFS Link cuffs come with buttonholes on both the sides and have to be closed with silk knots or cufflinks. Also called French cuffs, they are the most classy type of cuff style. The cuff is folded back and is great for showing a quarter inch of the cuff underneath the jacket sleeve. They give a more pronounced look. Wear them with blazers and coats to turn several heads.
