Speech Style It is a way in which something is said , done , expressed, or performed . According to Martin Joos , speech style means the form of language that the speaker uses which characterized by the degree of formality.
Intimate 01 Conversations take place between persons of close alliances/relationships. This style is private. Examples : Married couples Family members
Casual 2 Conversations typically take place between classmates, friends, or co-workers . Examples: Jargon Slang Gay language Vulgar words
Consultative 3 Conversations take place between professionals and clients or professionals to professionals where advice is sought or given . Examples: Doctors with their patients Lawyers with their clients
Formal 5 - This style is used in formal settings. Prepared in advance and follow strict rules in word choice and content . Examples: Sermon of priest State of the nation address (SONA )
Frozen 5 This style is frozen in time and remains unchanged. It mostly occurs in ceremonies and most formal level of speech style. Examples : Legal documents Preamble National Anthem
