Ulticon Builders Inc. has always believed that communication, alignment, and accountability are key drivers of success in construction. With projects spanning the most challenging terrains across Mindanao and beyond, the importance of project coordination is paramount. To ensure consistency in execution, Ulticon recently hosted a PE/PIC Coordination Meeting dedicated to Region X, bringing together key project engineers, department heads, and top executives in one productive session. The goal was to assess the actual progress of ongoing projects, identify and resolve bottlenecks , and set new targets that reflect both ambition and capability. These coordination meetings are a standard part of our operations, yet they continue to spark fresh energy and insight into how we can do better, move faster, and build stronger. This is where excellence is shaped—through open dialogue, honest review, and collective problem-solving .
Aligning Performance With Projections During the meeting, every Region X project engineer and project-in-charge presented detailed updates on their respective sites. Each presentation included a review of actual accomplishments against previously set projections. This process, while technical, goes beyond the numbers. It opens the door to critical thinking, proactive adjustment, and deeper ownership of results. Project performance data gives us visibility. But what makes that data powerful is how it is interpreted and used. Are we behind because of weather delays or supplier constraints? Are there local conditions affecting labor mobilization? These questions are explored in depth, not to place blame, but to create solutions. Our teams know that progress isn’t linear, especially in the field of infrastructure. But what matters most is how we respond, adapt, and commit to recovering timelines without compromising quality.
Breaking Silos, Strengthening Solutions One of the most impactful elements of Ulticon’s coordination meetings is the presence of support departments. Fleet Management, Procurement, Engineering, Survey, Legal, and Human Resources all participate, creating a 360-degree approach to project execution. Instead of working in silos, these departments collaborate with on-ground leaders to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. For example, if an equipment delay is holding back a key activity on site, Fleet can step in with a revised deployment schedule. If workforce availability is low, HR can coordinate with site management to recruit skilled personnel faster. These real-time exchanges allow Ulticon to remove barriers before they become critical, saving both time and resources. It is this spirit of collaboration that keeps our projects moving, especially in high-priority infrastructure zones like Region X.
Upholding Accountability Through Leadership Carlos “Charlie” Gonzalez, Ulticon co-founder and Chairman, has instilled a strong culture of accountability across all levels of the organization. Celebrating Connections at the UBI Main Office Later that afternoon, employees returned to the UBI Compound Grounds for a Valentine’s Day celebration designed to bring joy, connection, and lighthearted energy to the workplace. All employees were invited to wear colors symbolizing their relationship status—from red for “in a relationship” to white for “single”—sparking laughter and camaraderie across the organization. The event featured interactive games including: ● Mixed and Matched (Couple Edition) – The winning pair received a dinner at a fine-dining restaurant ● Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus – Each winner received PHP 500 ● Tell Me – With PHP 500 awarded to each winning participant Employees also enjoyed a Jam with UBI Sessionistas music session, creating a relaxed atmosphere where teams could enjoy live performances and end the workday on a high note

Kristine Javier and the Legal Team, as well as representatives from all major operational units, the Region X teams mapped out a forward-looking strategy. Each site was given clear targets and timelines, and each department committed to providing the necessary support to make those goals achievable. This alignment of expectations and responsibilities is what makes Ulticon’s project management system so effective. Everyone leaves the room knowing exactly what is expected, who is accountable , and what resources will be made available. We do not leave progress to chance.
