Under Warranty in Odoo 18 Field Service Enterprise

Enterprise Introduction In this slide, we’ll discuss the under warranty in Odoo 18 field service. This functionality allows businesses to track whether products or services are still covered by warranty when managing service requests or repairs. If the service is under warranty , the time and materials used for this task will not be billable to the customer. However the inventory of the consumed materials will still be updated.

Enterprise We can move to Field Service module and choose a task to know about the under warranty in field service.

Enterprise In the tasks, we can enable the under warranty option. So the materials or the time consumed to complete this task won’t be billable to the customer .

Enterprise We can add the products used for this task from the products smart button.

Enterprise From this we can add the products for this task.

Enterprise Since this is under warranty, the amount is still zero for these products. We can see the sale order related to this by clicking on the sale order icon.

Enterprise In the sale order lines we can see the amount for all products is zero.

Enterprise Also we can track the time for this task by clicking on the Start button.

Enterprise We can log the time by clicking on the log time button in the wizard that opens when we click on Stop button to stop the tracking. Even the time consumed will be non billable because this is under warranty.

Enterprise In the Reporting, we can go to the Moves History and see the items that is used.

Enterprise Here we can validate the transfer and even the inventory is updated, the products will be still non billable.

Enterprise If we go back to the task in field service , the total amount for products will be zero itself. If we go back to the

Enterprise Now we can see the difference between the task which is not under warranty.

Enterprise After adding the products used for this task, the amount is updated here, meaning it is billable to the customers .

Enterprise In the sale order lines we can see the total amount is not zero.
