WHAT IS A GOAL? A goal is a destination that a plan is intended to achieve.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOAL AND PLAN A goal is a destination that a plan is intended to achieve. A goal is a target. A plan is a series of steps to be carried out to achieve a goal.
WHY MUST YOU CREATE YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN? Creating a personal development plan not only helps you to effectively plan for the future and manage your own learning and development, but it also gives you direction and causes you to move forward in whatever you are doing. It also helps you to effectively manage your time. Time is life, said Americans.
AREAS TO THINK ABOUT WHEN SETTING GOALS
There are five (05) areas of goal setting: Spiritual goals Intellectual goals Financial goals Physical goals Social goals
HOW YOUR GOALS MUST BE S - Specific: write out clear and concise goals. M - Measurable: the ability to track your progress. A - Achievable: set challenging, yet achievable goals. R - Realistic: your goal must be relevant to your overall life plan. T - Timely: your goal must have a deadline attached to it.

FINANCIAL GOAL I earn 500,000Fcfa by the 30th of December 2023 .
BREAK YOUR GOAL Your goal must be broken into small goals to make it easier to achieve. Big goal (annual): I earn 500,000FCfa by the 30th of December 2023. Monthly goal: I earn 41,700Fcfa every month. Weekly goal: I earn 10,425Fcfa every week. Daily goal: I earn 1,305Fcfa every day.
What are your strengths? These include the things you already have that can help you in achieving the goal. When we consider this goal, strengths can be: Any source of income you already have Any financial or business skills you already have Any knowledge you already have in the area etc…
What are your weaknesses? These include things that can help you achieve your goal but you don’t have. When we consider this goal, what are the things that you lack in accomplishing your goal. It may be: You don’t have a source of income You don’t have any financial skills You don’t have any knowledge in the area etc…
What do you need? Do some in-depth research on what it takes to achieve your goal. Inasmuch as you know your weaknesses, they constitute what you need in achieving your goal.
What is your action plan? A goal without a plan is only a dream. Brian Tracy This is a series of steps that you have to take in order to achieve your goal. It can be something like: Starting a business Learning skills Getting books on business and financial management etc…
This process can be used in all the remaining areas.
Once your goal set and the plan created, CONSISTENCY and DISCIPLINE are the master-words you need to keep in your mind to achieve it. You must also track your progress by reviewing your goals daily.

Where am I now? Where would I be in the future? How did I get to where I am today? What did I do right? What have been my biggest success so far? How did it occur? What did I do wrong? What were the reasons? What do I do to get to where I want to be? Based on experiences, what should I be doing more or less of? What should I start doing that I am not yet doing? What should I stop doing?
