The Human Flourishing in Terms
of Science and Technology
Lesson 1

3 3
Every living creature is meant to become what it is meant to be.
However, as we grow and develop, different factors affect us, different questions
need to be answered, and steps and actions need to be undertaken.
Flourishing is the highest good of a human's attempt to achieve his/her goal. A
human being is successful when he/she achieves it for the betterment of his/her
life. The best life is one of excellent human activity.

Aristotle
Greek Philosopher
EUDAIMONIA
-means “good-spirited” is a
term used by Aristotle to
describe the peak of human
happiness that can be attained.
The big question is HOW?
HOW CAN WE ACHIEVE YOUR
FLOURISHING??

ARISTOTLE ASKS
Activity 3.1
Aristotle tries to begin with common
sense. He doesn’t just want to build
theories in thin air that have no
connection. He just collects different
opinions from different people about a
certain topic. For your activity, you will
ask different people for their opinions on
the following questions:
a.What is happiness?
b.What is/are your goal/s in life?
c.How can you achieve your goals?
d.Who are the people you need to
achieve your goals with?
