Introduction to Dynamic Forms

What are Dynamic Forms Salesforce Dynamic Forms is a feature in Lightning Experience that allows admins to break up the Record Detail component into individual field sections and fields that can be placed anywhere on the page. conditional visibility rules. Dynamic Forms optimize page performance by rendering only the fields needed for a specific user or context, enhancing efficiency and usability

Why Dynamic Forms

Why Dynamic Forms Personalized User Experience: Dynamic Forms allow you to display fields field sections and Actions based on user profiles, record types, or specific field values. This means users only see the information that’s relevant to them, enhancing productivity and reducing cognitive overload. Conditional Visibility: You can set visibility rules to dynamically show or hide fields and Actions based on specific conditions, improving clarity by removing unnecessary fields unless they meet certain criteria. Flexibility: Instead of relying on traditional static page layouts, you can arrange fields and sections anywhere on the page. This provides more design flexibility to create a streamlined, organized user interface

Why Dynamic Forms Improved Performance: Pages with Dynamic Forms only load fields that are visible to the user. This can lead to better performance and faster page load times since unnecessary fields are not processed Adaptability to Business Changes: When your business processes change, it’s easier to update the forms by modifying the visibility rules and field placements, without having to rebuild entire page layouts.

Salesforce Dynamic Forms Benefits Upgrade from Page Layouts : Place fields and sections wherever you want (and even on separate tabs) Dynamic Layouts  : Use visibility rules to show and hide fields and sections Simpler Layout Management :  Manage the fields and sections on your pages in the Lightning App Builder without touching the page layout editor Reduce Page Layouts :  Reduce the number of page layouts you need with component visibility rules Single Assignment Model : Use single assignment model for the Lightning page instead of dual model of assigning a Lightning page & a page layout

Key Features

Key Features Drag-and-Drop Field Placement: Easily add and position individual fields anywhere on a Lightning page, outside of traditional page layouts. Conditional Field and Section Visibility: Control the visibility of specific fields or sections based on criteria like field values, user profiles, or record types.

Key Features Real-Time Field Updates: Fields can dynamically show or hide in real-time as users interact with the form, improving workflow efficiency. Enhanced User Experience: Pages are tailored to each user by only showing the relevant fields they need, leading to a more intuitive and clutter-free interface

Key Features Customizable Page Layouts: Create fully customizable page layouts without relying solely on record types, allowing for more flexibility and less reliance on static page configurations. Support for Custom Objects: Dynamic Forms can be applied to custom objects, allowing greater customization in managing custom data models. Migration from Classic Page Layouts: You can migrate existing Classic page layouts to Lightning Dynamic Forms, making it easier to adapt existing setups to modern user interfaces.

Best Practices

Best Practices Optimize Page Performance Limit the Number of Rules and Conditions: Overusing visibility rules or complex logic can lead to slower page load times. Focus on the most impactful conditions to streamline performance. Minimize Component Load: Avoid placing too many components or fields on a single page. This ensures that only relevant data is loaded, improving the page speed.

Best Practices 2. Simplify Visibility Rules Use Logical Grouping: Group visibility rules that have similar conditions to reduce redundancy and simplify management. Avoid Overlapping Rules: Ensure that rules are mutually exclusive to avoid conflicts and make the logic easy to understand and maintain.

Best Practices Prioritize User Experience Design with Users in Mind: Show only the fields that users need at a specific point in their workflow. Avoid cluttering the interface with unnecessary fields. Mobile Optimization: Ensure Dynamic Forms are configured to be responsive for mobile devices, providing a seamless experience regardless of the platform.

Step by Step Implementation

Step by Step Implementation Go to Lightning App Builder from the setup and edit the record Page you want to enable dynamic form for Enable Dynamic Forms: If Dynamic Forms are not already enabled, navigate to Record Details and then you will find button “Upgrade Now” click on that button and then click finish after selecting the page layout. .

Dynamic forms are now enabled and you can now add or remove the fields on the page, and hide/show the fields based on specific criteria Step by Step Implementation

Step by Step Implementation we can also configure dynamic actions for the highlights. The actions will be enabled for desktop. Using this feature, we can add Actions directly from the page, and hide or show the actions based on specific criteria
