A policy pursued by a nation in its dealings with other nations, designed to achieve national objectives. What is Foreign Policy?

The President can make Foreign Policy by his responses to foreign events EX. When the President chooses to enter a war that does not involve the US to help another country. Another way is by proposals for legislation. - EX. Obama’s Gun Control Proposal The President

Congress can make Foreign Policy by congressional oversight. - refers to oversight by the United States Congress on the Executive Branch, including the numerous U.S. federal agencies. Congressional oversight refers to the review, monitoring, and supervision of federal agencies, programs, activities. Also by Legislative restrictions/funding denials - Meaning that the Legislative branch can deny any public funding's or put restrictions on certain items Congress

Was the American program to aid Europe after WW2 to prevent the spread of Soviet Communism. The plan was in operation for 4 years (1948-1952) to rebuild a war-devastated region, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, and to make Europe prosperous again. The Marshall Plan

NATO’s purpose is to safeguard the freedom and security of its members through political and military means. If the US gets involved in an outside affair and something goes wrong NATO will then step in. NATO is currently dealing with the war in Afghanistan. NATO

United Nations is an international organization of 51 countries who are committed to maintaining international peace and security. The UN is currently dealing with the effects of the tornado that hit Oklahoma. United Nations

The World Hunger Organization plays a role in Foreign Policy by supporting all the homeless and hungry with food to eat. Such as soup kitchens etc. One event they are currently dealing with is in Greenville, Tenn. where they deliver 350 lunches each week around the area World Hunger Organization

The US Foreign Policy affects the average citizen because the US is spending money in other countries when they could be using the money to benefit America Average Citizens
