FESTIVALS The Visayas are a central Philippine island group separated into three non-administrative regions: Central, Eastern, and Western. It has several stunning white sand beaches. Its colourful history began with the Malays' first migration from mainland Asia and Ferdinand Magellan's discovery on his final voyage over the enormous Pacific Ocean. Visayans honor their traditions and culture by celebrating festivals as they are known to be Roman Catholic or Christianity in religion. These festivals are celebrated in tribute to their saints, to share peace and happiness, to give thanks for the abundant harvest, and to advertise their products. Visayans are known for their different festivals celebrated in other cities of Visayan Island.
