Why do we have different judgment on a situation?

Situation : The employer strictly imposes that only younger employees can be promoted. Value Judgment : The company must offer a fair promotion to all employees regardless of age. Age should not be a basis for promotion.

Situation : Seafarers who lost their hands/feet during work hours will be given benefits but will lose their jobs forever. Value Judgment : Marina should take care and offer alternative jobs to those seafarers who become disabled because of their work.
