Work Schedule Rule The Work Schedule rule is the shift schedule that has been planned for the employee. It describes the both, duration and composition of working time. An organization may have one or several different work schedules depending on its HR policies. Before you can assign a Work schedule to an employee, it must be created and generated in SAP Customizing.

Public holiday Calendar -(scal) Public Holiday Class: Public Holiday class represents the characteristic of a public holiday i.e. if the holiday is “Full” or “Half” day holiday or it is not at all a holiday. Blank - Not a Public Holiday 1 - Public Holiday 2 - Half Day Holiday With Fixed Date - It is always going to fall on a fixed date like New Year on 01-Jan. With a fixed day from date - If company would like to declare that 1st Monday from 1st April as a Public holiday. , then we should select this option. Floating Public Holiday - It is meant for public holidays for which dates vary with every year like Diwali, Holi etc.

Break Schedule Define the break rules in the work schedule for any particular working day and assign them to a personnel subarea grouping for work schedules. Types of break schedules:- Fixed Breaks:- Breaks are defined for a certain time period and can only be used by employees during this period of time . Ex:- Lunch break — 01:00 pm to 2:00 pm . Coffee break — 04:30 p m to 04:45 p m

Variable Breaks:- Breaks are taken during a specific time interval. Employees themselves determine the start and end of the break taken within this time interval. Ex :- Employees are entitled to a 45-minute break any time between 01:00 pm to 03:00 pm . Dynamic Breaks:- Breaks taken after working a certain number of hours . Ex :- Employees are entitled to the following breaks : Half-hour break after working 3 hours 45 minutes break after working 5 hours

Daily Work Schedule No Planned working hours:- This field should be checked to indicate zero working hours, which basically implies a day off.

Period Work Schedule Define period work schedules by specifying the sequence of daily work schedules for a work schedule for one or more weeks.

DAY TYPES:- A Day type is basically used to indicate the following for each day Whether an employee should work on that day. Whether an employee should be paid for that day. The following day types are pre-defined by SAP:- 0 (blank) – Work /Paid 1 – Off / Paid 2 – Off / Not paid 3 – Off /Special Day
