Various types of meters

A  digital voltmeter  (DVM) measures an unknown input voltage by converting the voltage to a digital value and then displays the voltage in numeric form. DVMs are usually designed around a special type of  analog-to-digital converter called an  integrating converter. DVM measurement accuracy is affected by many factors, including temperature, input impedance, and DVM power supply voltage variations VOLT METER

A Meter Mechanical current meters are mostly based on counting the rotations of a propeller and are thus rotor current meters. A mid-20th-century realization is the Ekman current meters which drops balls into a container to count the number of rotations. The Roberts radio current meter is a device mounted on a moored buoy and transmits its findings via radio to a servicing vessel.

MULTI METER A multimeter or a multitester, also known as a VOM (volt-ohm-milliammeter), is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several measurement functions in one unit. A typical multimeter can measure voltage, current, and resistance. Analog multimeters use a microammeter with a moving pointer to display readings. Digital multimeters (DMM, DVOM) have a numeric display, and may also show a graphical bar representing the measured value.

GALVANO METER A galvanometer is an electromechanical instrument used for detecting and indicating electric current. A galvanometer works as an actuator, by producing a rotary deflection (of a "pointer"), in response to electric current flowing through a coil in a constant magnetic field.

CLAMP ON METER In electrical and electronic engineering, a current clamp or current probe is an electrical device with jaws which open to allow clamping around an electrical conductor. This allows measurement of the current in a conductor without the need to make physical contact with it, or to disconnect it for insertion through the probe

A.C. WATTMETER The wattmeter is an instrument for measuring the electric power (or the supply rate of electrical energy) in watts of any given circuit. Electromagnetic wattmeters are used for measurement of utility frequency and audio frequency power; other types are required for radio frequency measurements .

OHM METER An ohmmeter is an electrical instrument that measures electrical resistance, the opposition to an electric current. Micro-ohmmeters (microhmmeter or microohmmeter) make low resistance measurements. Megohmmeters (also a trademarked device Megger) measure large values of resistance. The unit of measurement for resistance is ohms .

MEGGER - Types of megger 1.Electronic Type (Battery Operated) (1) Megger is a measuring instrument used for the measurement of insulation resistance of an electrical system. An electrical system degrades its quality of insulation resistance with time and various environmental conditions including temperature, moisture, dust particles & humidity.

2 .Manual Type (Hand Operated) Insulation resistance IR quality of an electrical system degrades with time, environment condition, i.e., temperature, humidity, moisture and dust particles. It also gets impacted negatively due to the presence of electrical and mechanical stress, so it’s become very necessary to check the IR (Insulation resistance) of equipment at a constant regular interval to avoid any measure fatal or electrical shock.

LUX METER A lux meter is an equipment that measures brightness of falling on an object at a particular area. In other words, it properly gauges the intensity at which brightness appears to the human eye. Don't confuse it with the measurements of light reflected from an object or light source and the actual light energy produced by an object. Lux can be simply defined as a unit of measurement of illuminance or more accurately, brightness.

TACHO METER A tachometer (revolution-counter, tach, rev-counter, RPM gauge) is an instrument measuring the rotation speed of a shaft or disk, as in a motor or other machine.[1] The device usually displays the revolutions per minute (RPM) on a calibrated analogue dial, but digital displays are increasingly common.
