FUNCTIONS OF RIGHT AND
LEFT LATERAL VENTRICLES
Rightandleftlateralventriclesare
structureswithinthebrainthatcontain
cerebrospinalfluid,aclear,wateryfluidthat

helpingtocirculatenutrientsandremove

THIRD VENTRICLE FUNCTION
Thethirdventricleisinvolvedinseveral
functionsofthebodyincluding:
ProtectionoftheBrainFromTrauma
PathwayfortheCirculationof
CerebrospinalFluid
TransportationofNutrientsandWaste
fromtheCentralNervousSystem

CSF (CEREBROSPINAL
FLUID)
Cerebrospinalfluid(CSF)istheclear,

COMPOSITION OF CSF
Cerebrospinal Fluid
Water -99.13%
Solids -0.87%
Inorganic substances
Sodium
Calcium
Potassium
Magnesium
Chlorides
Phosphate, Bicarbonates, Sulfates

18
Organic substances
Proteins
Amino acids
Sugar
Cholesterol
Urea
Uric acid
Creatinine
Lactic acid Lymphocytes in CSF

FUNCTIONS OF CSF
1.PROTECTION
TheCSFprotectsthebrainfrom
