About This Presentation

Verbal communication includes both face-to-face conversation between people and written communication. It includes sounds, words, or speaking. Nonverbal communication includes gestures, facial expressions, body movement, timing, touch, and anything else done without speaking.

What is business communication Business communication  is providing information in order to promote an organization's goals, objectives, purpose, and activities, as well as increase profits within the company.

Definition C ommunication is an exchange of facts, ideas , emotions and opinions by two or more person.

Verbal communication Verbal communication  is the use of sounds and words to express yourself, especially in contrast to using gestures or mannerisms .

Types of verbal communication Interpersonal communication Intrapersonal communication Small group communication Public communication

1) Intrapersonal communication Intrapersonal communication  is a communicator's internal use of language or thought. It can be useful to envision  intrapersonal communication  occurring in the mind of the individual in a model which contains a sender, receiver, and feedback loop.

2) Interpersonal communication This form of communication takes place between two individuals and is thus a one-on-one conversation. Here, the two individuals involved will swap their roles of sender and receiver in order to communicate in a clearer manner.

3) Small group communication Small . Small group communication . refers to interactions among three or more people who are connected through a common purpose, mutual influence, and a shared identity.

4)Public communication Public communication  is a method to share program, ideas or propaganda to  public . The main ideas is to give people a new information or knowledge. The message can come from personal, company and government .

Non verbal communication Nonverbal communication  ( NVC ) is the nonlinguistic transmission of information through visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic (physical) channels.

Non verbal communication Eye contact. Facial expressions. Gestures. Posture and body orientation. Body Language. Space and Distance.

1 ) Eye contact. Eye contact  occurs when two animals look at each other's  eyes  at the same time. In human beings,  eye contact  is a form of nonverbal communication and is thought to have a large influence on social behavior.

2) Facial expressions . A  facial expression  is one or more motions or positions of the muscles beneath the skin of the  face .

3) Gestures. A gesture is a form of non-verbal communication or non-vocal communication in which visible bodily actions communicate particular messages, either in place of, or in conjunction with, speech. Gestures include movement of the hands, face, or other parts of the body.

4) Posture and body orientation Posture and body orientation . How you hold yourself communicates your level of confidence. ... A person who sits or walks with slumped shoulders, hands in pockets and looking downward suggests a lack of confidence or a low self-esteem.

5) Body Language . Body language  is a type of a nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors , as opposed to words, are used to express or convey the information. Such behavior includes facial expressions,  body posture , gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space.

6) Space and Distance. The distance surrounding a person forms a space. The space within intimate distance and personal distance is called personal space. The space within social distance and out of personal distance is called social space. And the space within public distance is called public space.
