Waddington Europe Milton Keynes (acquired as Par-Pak in 2013) is a leading thermoformer of containers and trays with a wide range of plastic thermoformed packaging solutions to suit many food and industrial products. The Buckinghamshire based site is 50 miles North West of London, boasting easy access to the UK motorway networks, for cost effective and efficient delivery. At Waddington Europe Milton Keynes we can supply all our customers from either a large range of standard containers and trays, or offer our bespoke design services whether you are a Packer, Retailer or Distributor. We enable our customers to meet their environmental commitments with high-recycled content and low carbon footprint products.  

Fascinating Facts About Milton Keynes How big is the site?   The Manufacturing site is 7,600 square feet with an impressive additional warehouse space of 5800 square feet.  

How many employees are there? 122 people. How many machines do you have? 24 thermoformers and 1 automatic labeller. On a busy day we can process up to 40 tonnes of material!

What are your most frequently produced products at Milton Keynes?  Hinged trays for bakery products. What is the most unusual item you’ve ever made on the production line? A Rugby World Cup ball, and a tennis ball for Wimbledon, both for holding mini muffins!  

What is unique about production capabilities at Milton Keynes?    Complete in-house design and tool making facilities.      What does it mean to achieve AA standard BRC rating? Full commitment from senior management, maintaining site standards, process control with ownership from every employee and HR support to ensure employees are healthy, properly trained and wearing PPE for safe manufacturing.    

What is your latest innovation that you are working on right now?   Down-gauging material where feasible with our customers and keeping the recyclability of our products at the forefront of everything we do.   What is the latest carbon footprint reduction initiative you’ve implemented on site?   We have completed the ESOS energy audit and are looking at what we can address from the audit to reduce energy usage.    

What are you most proud of right now?   We have gone 559 days without a Traumatic Injury Recordable (TIR). Our parent company, Novolex, run a medallion scheme for safety and Milton Keynes is currently in the Gold Medallion Club.      The Milestones are: Silver – 6 Months Gold – 1 Year Platinum – 2 Years Diamond – 4 Years
