History Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. Commonly known as Warner Bros. and abbreviated as WB. Founded by Harry Warner, Albert Warner, Sam Warner, Jack L. Warner, in the year 1923. The company is known for its film studio division, the Warner Bros. Pictures Group, which includes Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, the Warner Animation Group, Castle Rock Entertainment, and DC Films. Parent Company - Warner Media Studios & Networks Key people - Ann Sarnoff (Chairwoman and CEO, Warner Media Studios and Networks Group).

Current Scenario and Market Position. In 2019, media giant Warner Media generated a total revenue of 33.5 billion U.S. dollars, up from 18.94 billion in the previous year WB has competitors in all its sectors. Namely, DC universe has its rival Marvel which belongs to the Disney production house. HBO Max which is an OTT platform that has been introduced against Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HULU etc. Operating offices in more than 30 countries and releasing films in over 120 international territories. Marketing Strategy. Product Strategy: Warner Bros is involved in distribution of theatrical motion films, TV shows, home video products and television programming, publishing division of books and magazines. M ain products of Warner Bros are its movies made in Hollywood, which have a global audience. Warner Bros played a trump card while they introduced J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World by producing Harry Potter series. Pricing Strategy: Warner Bros has got a wide offering to its audience and hence a wide pricing strategy. The pricing decisions in its marketing mix that are involved in distribution of films are taken as per the film budget allocated and region to be distributed.

Marketing Strategy. Place & Distribution Strategy: Warner Bros has got a global reach owing to its popular movies and excellent worldwide distribution. It also sells accessories and merchandise on WB Shop where customers can purchase their favourite movie character accessories. During the release of Harry Potter franchise movie, WB made sure that it reached to each and every place where harry potter fan base was huge. Promotion & Advertising Strategy: Warner Bros creates promotional hype by initially releasing film posters followed by a theatrical teaser and trailer of the films. Warner Bros also releases TV spots and uses promotional hashtags on Twitter to make the film popular among followers.

SWOT Analysis. Strength: Strong legacy since 1923. Globally acclaimed media company producing movies, TV shows, entertainment etc. Strong financial position which is steady and growing.  Recognized by several global awards Weakness : Being a market leader, often criticized for trivial issues which becomes huge. Industry is very volatile as success of movies is never guaranteed.

SWOT Analysis. Opportunities: Introducing new instalments to its successful franchises such as The Lord of the Rings, Batman, Harry Potter and Hang-over. Revenues can be further increased through higher integration of product placement marketing strategy. Threats: Decline of the sales of DVDs due to the maturation of DVD format of entertainment challenging economic conditions, and piracy. Declining popularity of US television programs.
