WASH-FOR-INDIA
volunteer program @
A.E.S.
Wednesday, March 6, 13

60% of India’s population does not have a toilet and go
outside to relieve themselves. 1,000 children die EVERY DAY
due to the diarrhea caused by this lack of sanitation. The
loss of human dignity is immeasurable as people are forced
to be in full view of others for a very private act.
Wednesday, March 6, 13

WASH United is an award winning
international NGO, with presence in India,
Africa, & Germany, that pioneers the use of the
use of sport star ambassadors, interactive
educational games, and innovative
campaigning formats to make toilets & hand-
washing hygiene “cool & sexy” and to
facilitate behavior change.

A problem as large as India’s sanitation crisis cannot be
solved till a lot more passionate individuals step up and
get involved.
WASH United’s WASH-for-India Volunteer Program
seeks to engage committed students from schools &
colleges in & outside of India in our battle against
diarrhea.
This international community of deeply committed
ambassadors and volunteers will work on creative &
challenging projects that include but are not limited to
producing films & photo essays, holding training
sessions with at-risk communities, interviewing policy
makers & social innovators, fundraising, petitioning, &
lots more.
WASH United views our volunteer program as a
strategic initiative that will enable us in reaching our
goal of saving thousands of lives & increasing human
dignity through improved sanitation & hygiene.
