GUIDED BY: Mr. RAVINDRA KUMAR RAJKIYA ENGINEERING COLLEGE AMBEDKARNAGAR-224122 2017-18 PRESENTED BY UDAY PRATAP PASWAN (1473720044) SONU YADAV (1573720907) GORAKH NATH (1373720017 ADITYA RAJ (1573720901) B. Tech- FINAL YEAR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING A MAJOR PROJECT ON “WATER LEVAL AUTOMATIC PUMP CONTROLLER”

CONTENTS INTRODUCTION WORKING PRINCIPLE BLOCK DIAGRAM COMPONENTS DETAILS OF COMPONENTS APPLICATIONS ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES REFERENCE

INTRODUCTION Automatic water pump controller is a series of functions to control water level. With a sensor in the short to create the top level and a detection sensor for detecting long again made for the lower level. Water is used for a variety of purposes for bathing and cleaning to drinking and cooking.

BLOCK DIAGRAM T/F 909 volt . C 100µF VR Transistor Relay PUMP Sensor

WORKING PRINCIPLE This controller setup has three sensors, one in sum and other in overhead tank. When ever the pump sensor is ON the controller has the power to control the pump. If the sensor is OFF the whole controller is turned OFF . Now let assume that sump is full and overhead tank is empty. Now both the sensors in the overhead tank is turned ON . The lower sensor latches the A C relay so that the pump turns ON .

The main power switch is ON, the pump is a ON condition.

As soon as the water level increases the lower sensor is turned off but the pump continuous be on.

As water reaches the maximum level the upper sensor is also turned OFF so is it unlatches the AC relay. So that the both relay is unlatched the pump is turned OFF.

The pump is OFF only when the water level reaches the minimum level. But pump is OFF.

The pump is restart only when the water level reaches the minimum level.

COMPONENTS PC BOARD - (1). POWER SUPPLY (9-0-9 TRANSFORMER) - (1). SWITCH - (1). LIGHT EMITTING DIODES (LED’s) - (3). RESISTORS - (4). CAPACITOR. - (3). TRANSISTORS - (1). VARIABLE RESISTOR - (1). RELAY - (2). CONNECTING WIRE.

DETAILS OF COMPONENTS 2. POWER SUPPLY- Step down transformer 230V 50 H AC Input power to 9V Dc output supply. 1. PC BOARD- A pc board is a construction base for prototyping of electronics. It is used for temporary prototyping and experimenting with circuit diagram . 3. ON OFF SWITCH- Main Power supply turn on and turn off

4. LED’s- A LED is a two-lead semi conductor light source. It is a p-n junction diode (Light Emitting Diode) . 5. RESISTORS: Resistor is a passive component used to control current in a circuit. Its resistance is given by the ratio of voltage applied across its terminals to the current passing through it .

6. CAPACITOR The voltage rating on a capacitor the maximum amount of voltage. that a capacitor can safely be store. The certain size (1µF to 1000µF, etc.) and certain voltage (10V, 25V, 50V, etc.). Capacitors come in different voltage ratings, so that can supply circuits with different voltages. 7. TRANSISTORS A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify and switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductor material with at least three terminals.

8. VARIABLE RESISTOR The variable resistor with has two applications. One is to change the resistance. The switch mechanism is used for the electric contact and non-contact by on/off operation of the switch. There are switch mechanism variable resistors with annular cross-section which are used for the control of equipments.

11. CONNECTING WIRES- Few connecting wires are used for connection in the circuit. 9. RELAY- The relay module is a normally open normally closed digital switch that control relay capable of switching much higher voltages and currents than your standard a 12 V

APPLICATIONS Automatic Water level Controller can be used in Hotels, Factories, Homes Apartments, Commercial Complexes, Drainage, etc. It can be used to predict flood . Liquid level indicator in the huge containers in the companies. Low power consumer. Fuel level indicator in vehicles.

ADVANTAGES Low maintenance. Low costs. Compact and good design Fully Automatic. Saves Water. Saves energy. Increases Pump Life.

DISADVANTAGES This project may not be able to handle power. The components used in this are sensitive and may damage easily. We need to insert the wire in accordance with the level of water.
