Water Level Monitoring System Using LabVIEW Group 2 Allan Salvador Abiang Edith A. Castillo Maeve Eilinger Mikhayla Kho Jo Malyn Nicolas Marc Bjorn Pineda
Introduction Marikina officials together with the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) made a way to prevent the flood casualties. Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act enhances the disaster preparedness and capabilities of the national government and local government units Water Level Monitoring System using LabVIEW. More accurate More independent aligned in the standards of the Flood Alert Level Monitoring in Marikina River
Statement of the Problem The problem is, due to the lack of awareness of the abrupt increase of water caused by heavy rain, most families fail to make a quick response with regards to the flood. This scenario causes devastating effects such as deaths and infrastructural casualties. The researchers would like to resolve this common situation during storm surges .
Significance of the Study 1.To the Students For future proposals and studies concerning operational systems integrated to LabVIEW Programming. 2.To the Residents For their safety and security purposes that may reduce future casualties 3. To the Authority for them to take into account the rise and fall of the water level and relay the information to their respective subordinates to prepare and evacuate as needed as possible. 4. To the Future Researchers used as their reference in terms of creating the same prototype to achieve more empirical and experimental results.
Review of Related Literatures and Studies Related Literatures Badilla (2008), developed a simulation of river flows in the Upper Marikina, based on linking the HBV rainfall-runoff model with the DUFLOW 1D unsteady hydraulic model. Soon after Tropical Storm Ondoy , Abon et al. (2010), developed a hydraulic model of flow in the Marikina River. Their semi-distributed model combined the SCS Curve-Number loss model with the SCS Unit Hydrograph, using the HEC-HMS modelling environment.
Review of Related Literatures and Studies Related Studies Flooding is the most common natural disaster worldwide which happens without any prior warning. Floods have been known to do some significant damage. ( Subramaniam , et. al., 2010) According to Mani, N.,et al., (2014), in the last few decades several monitoring system integrated with water level detection have become accepted.

Conclusion The researchers used the aquarium and miniature. Once the sensor detected the level of the water, the corresponding LED will blink. It uses three LED indicators with respective warnings. The levels set in Virtual Instrument during the testing experiment are scaled. The first level was set from 0-7 inches. The second level was set from 7-8 inches. And, the third level was set from 8- above inches. The amount of casualties in flood-prone areas will decrease through the use and implementation of this project .
