in Asia

Asia
Asia -part of the world which together with Europe forms
Eurasia, the largest continent on Earth. Because of
historical and cultural reasons, Asia itself is also sometimes
called the continent.
Area: 44 579 000 km ² Population: 4.427 of billion (2014)

Drinking water
resources

Rivers
The longest rivers of Asia are: the Yangtze (6300 km), the Huang He
(5464 km), Amur (4510 km), the Mekong (4500 km), Lena (4400 km),
the Yenisei (4102 km), Ob (4338 km), Indus (3180 km) and SyrDarya
(3078 km). The longest river in Asia, constituting another tributary of
the river, is falling into Both Irtysh (4248 km). Syberianrivers like:
Ob (2,975 km ²), Yenisei (2,580 km ²), Lena (2490 km ²), and the
Amur (1855 km ²) have the biggest river basins. The most water is
supplied to the Pacific Ocean by Yangtze (35 thousand. M³ / s), the
largest amount of slurry (2.18 billion tons per year) is carried by
Ganges with Brahmaputra, forming a huge delta at the estuary. In
central and western Asia, many rivers are periodic or episodic.

Lakes
The largest lakes are located in the northern, central
and western parts of Asia, they are: highly-drying out
Aral Sea (approx. 33.6 thousand km ²), Baikal -the
deepest lake in the world (area of 31.5 sq. Km) and
partly salt Balkhash lake(17-22 thousand km ²). Siberia,
especially Western, is the area of extensive wetlands.

Glaciers
Contemporary glaciationof Asia is the biggest on the
Arctic islands, in the mountains of Siberia and the highly
erected areas of Central Asia. The line of perpetual
snow goes through Arctic islands at sea level. The
largest glaciers are in Karakorum (Sjaczen-1180 square
kilometers, Baltoro–755 km², the Hispar-622 km ²),
Pamir (Fedczenki-995 km ²) and Tienszanie(Inylczek
South -500 km ²).
