Christmas is one of the most exciting holidays of the year.
We all have traditions and customs that help us to look
forward to this time of the year. But it would be wrong to
assume that it is only celebrated among theChristians.
With the world becoming a global village,Christmasis now
celebrated in many countries around the world.
During this webquest,
you will learn
about
Christmas customs and traditions
in some countries around the world.
I hope you like it!

values,
desires, affections,
traditions.

Do other countries celebrate the
way we do?
Do their celebrations include gifts,
decorations, special music and
food?

Task
Your mission is to find the following
information for the country you are sent to:
Nameof country
How do they say "Merry Christmas"
Location (on a map )
Flag
Reason for celebration
Gifts (including who brings them)
Decorations
Picturesandthingsthatpeopledoon

Special Food drink &/or Music
Describe the weather during the celebration
time.

When you have explored
these traditions create a power
point to share with the class.

Form groups of four students.
Choose a country.
Search the information related
to the country your group has
chosen.
Prepare a PowerPoint of your
country because when you
finish it, your group will make
an oral presentation to your
partners.
Process

Step 1: Follow the links provided to learn
the traditions of the country you
have been sent to.
Step 2: Take notes about the customs you
will need to report on.
Step 3: Create a power point to share with
the class which explains each of the areas listed.
Step 4: Your power point should have at lease 10 slides:
a title slide, an introductory slide, five or more slides
describing the customs and a concluding slide.
Step 5: You will need to include at least 4 graphics and
a transition between the slides. Sound and animation
are not required but may be included.

The students will click on links related to the
Christmas traditions in other countries. The
students will then create a power point
presentation containing their findings. After
all projects are completed the students will
present their findings to the class.
