Expected learning: Students read some adverts and learn how to talk about past events. They practise vocabulary about
arts and entertainment. Read about the childhood memories of three teenagers and listen to a podcast about a carnival.
They read about a museum in the UK and finally, they read a story about an unforgettable day and write about a special
memory of their own. They also watch a vlog about living in Iceland and a culture video about street art.
Objective: To identify specific information in a podcast. To ask and answer questions about past events. To use the past
simple and past continuous to talk about past events, learn useful language to describe when things happened and study
connectors (however, but, and, so & because), and time phrases as well.

PROFESSOR STUDENTS
➔Teacher will ask ss if they have visited museums, and whether
they enjoy visiting them then, the teacher will elicit what ss
like / don’t like about visiting museums. Prompt them with
more questions if necessary, e.g. When did they last visit a
museum? Why did they go? What was the best/worst thing
about their visit?
➔Students will answer questions if they have visited museums,
and whether they enjoyed visiting them by saying what they
like / didn’t like about visiting museums.

PROFESSOR STUDENTS
➔Teacher will focus on the pictures of museums. Elicit which
two pictures show a traditional museum and which two show
an open-air museum.
➔ Teacher will ask ss for a show of hands to see how many
would prefer to visit the open-air museum, and elicit reasons
why. Teacher will repeat with the traditional museum then
put sts in pairs to discuss the differences between the
museums, then elicit ideas.
➔Students will focus on the pictures of museums and say which
of the two pictures show a traditional museum and which
two show an open-air museum.
➔Students will say whether they prefer to visit the open-air
museum or the traditional museum, and elicit reasons why.
Then, in pairs students will discuss the differences between
the museums, and express their ideas.
