PRESENTATION TITEL : Lathe house of a nursery

LATH Lath is thin narrow strip of wood that is used to support plaster on the inside walls and the ceilings of a room .

LATH HOUSE A valuable asset in raising seedlings, rooted cuttings, and young rhododendron plants prior to setting them out in the garden It will modify the environment in which they are growing by offering protection from hot, drying summer winds, reducing the intensity of the sunlight, lowering temperatures, and by maintaining a higher humidity

Plants in lath house

LATH HOUSE During December, January and February, the sides may be covered by plastic sheeting, which will furnish additional protection from the winter cold .

Features of lath house Lath houses have straight sides and a flat top The frame is similar to that of shade houses But the cover consists of movable lath sash or wooden strips of 5 cm x 5 cm placed 5 cm apart from each other .

Advantages It protect plants which are sensitive from high light intensity Also protect from excessive winter cold Plants can get favorable environment Nursing of plants is easier Hardening of vegetable seedlings Hydrangeas and azaleas can not harm Low rate of seedling death .

Disadvantages Establishment coast is high Required skilled labour Need to repair every year or season.
